Here’s an email I just received today: I had to share it.

Diane,

I hope that this email finds its’ way to you and finds you and your family well. I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your workshop this past weekend. It really inspired me to move out of my comfort zone and think big.

I came up with this “crazy” “BIG” idea while I was at your event. I decided that I wanted to put together a deal to bulk purchase 200+ REO properties in New Jersey from one bank. I know it seems crazy, particularly since I have not made any real estate deals at all yet. While I was at your event, I started thinking about the idea. I started with the question “Why not?” and quickly moved on to the one starting “How can I…”

It is about two days from the time I got home to my house in New Jersey (literally 48 hours). I started to talk with friends of mine about my idea. One friend gave me the name of someone at Hudson City Savings Bank who had helped him with his mortgage. I called that person and left a message explaining my plan and that I needed to get in touch with someone from their loss mitigation department. That person called me back today and gave me the name and number of the person responsible for the loss mitigation department. I also have gotten a contact from HSBC and the promise of a contact at Goldman Sachs.

I know I am far from a deal at the moment, but I am starting to feel things move in my direction. I was hoping that I could call on you, when the time comes, to help with the accounting and perhaps some recommendations for legal services. Of course, I do not expect anything for free.

I have already sent an email to Bill Shopoff (yeah, I guess I am that crazy) outlining my idea and asking nothing but the opportunity to run a deal past him if I get it close to completion and need a heavy hitter to put it over the top.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about the prospects. I guess that my business assets that I did not know I had are my contacts and my ability to work them to find the people I need to help me get things done. I suspected that this would be true.

Anyway, here’s to beating the two year challenge. I do not expect to get rich in this one deal, but I know I will be able to replicate that deal it if I get it done once.

Take a bow, because I probably would not have even tried if not for this past weekend.

Take care.

Sincerely,

Jim S, New Jersey

THANK YOU JIM! YOU BRIGHTENED ALL OF US WITH THIS STORY. I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR HOW IT ALL TURNS OUT.

Jim that is really exciting and I bet we hear many more stories coming out of the seminar. Mine is similar. In the different small group sessions I was being urged to pursue some business in teaching or coaching. I just could not see it or see myself accomplishing anything with this idea. I heard all weekend about the bright future of internet business. It never sank in until I had a conversation with Richard Cooley. He gave me an idea of putting a business on the internet. This is totally out of my expertise. But since the seminar I put things in motion to start my own web page. I still don’t know how or when it is going to happen. I just know through networking from the seminar and working with the mastermind group from the seminar it is going to happen. $1,000,000.00 in passive income in 2010. I can see it.

Kyle, an acquaintance of mine in Cali and his partners closed on notes for REO’s at 20cents on the dollar for notes that were originally valued at 1-10mil. (Forgive me, this is off the top of my head). What they are working on are work outs with the owners or foreclosing on owners themselves. (Not sure how it worked because as I write it, the words I’m using don’t make sense). But your goal is totally do able.
